Actor, director, and folk dance and sports choreographer, holding a postgraduate diploma in theatrical arts from the Institute of Fine Arts at Lebanese University. He has served as President of the Lebanese Actors' Syndicate since 2018 and is a member of several cultural committees and councils.
Badawi serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Unified Solidarity Fund for Lebanese Artists in his capacity as Secretary General. He headed the Arab delegation at the Arab Theater Experts Conference in Beijing, China in 2012, and has attended all Arab Theater Festivals organized by the Arab Theater Institute from 2019 to 2026. He participated in the opening of the Sharjah Academy for Performing Arts by gracious invitation from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah in 2019. He serves as a member of the Drama Jury Committee at the Murex d'Or Festival for 2024, 2025, and 2026.
Badawi participated in numerous Arab and international festivals, directed several short documentaries for the Ministry of Culture, and recorded various radio works. He won a second prize in directing for the film "Patience" at the Abu Dhabi Short Film Festival in 1994.
Badawi has an extensive career in television films and series as an actor. He contributed to the film exhibition at the Arab World Institute in Paris with the film "Patience" and received recognition from the organizing committee. He participated in the film "Naji Al-Ali" directed by Atef El-Tayeb and written by Bashir Al-Deek in multiple roles: assistant director, production manager, and actor.
Among his notable cinematic works: "The Temptress and the Adventurer," "Fedous and the Hitchhiker Girl," "Love in the Unknown," "Summer Breeze," and "The Blocked Road," all directed by specialized cinema masters.
On stage, Badawi participated in numerous productions under the direction of renowned theater masters, including: "Unlicensed Rural Outing," "The Patriotic Martyr," "The Wasp," "Time of the Deaf," "The Sparrows," "The Stray Bullet," "The Mayor and Mister," "Habib bin Mazahir," "King Lear," and "Imam Hussein, peace be upon him."
Badawi became famous for directing festival opening ceremonies and major events, including the Asian Cup in Lebanon in 2000 and the Arab School Tournament in 2001, as well as Tyre and South International Festivals (1996-2017) and the opening ceremony of the Arab Cup Festival in summer 1998.
He has extensive experience in performance art and folk dance, performing dancing roles in various productions since the 1970s. He performed with the Folk Arts Troupe led by Fahd Al-Abdallah on artistic tours in Tunisia, Morocco, Bulgaria, Spain, Saudi Arabia, and the Levant (1978-1984), then with Fahd Al-Abdallah's troupe at the George V and Piccadilly and numerous Arab and international festivals (1982-1988).
He worked as an actor in a number of television films and series, and participated in various television productions as an actor under the supervision of distinguished directors.
